They Grow Up So Fast

Everyone says this about kids, but it has been fun (and sad sometimes) to really see it for myself. It wasn't long ago that Grant was my baby and Reagan was the sweet, yet often confused, big sister. Now she thinks that she is the "vice mom" and is the second in command of Grant. Grant couldn't disagree more, but he follows nearly everything she does. He looks up to her but refuses to be controlled by her -- he would rather fall down than hold Reagan's hand for help.

This is a picture of their rare cooperation. Grant chooses books for Reagan to 'read' to him and Reagan reads whatever books she wants instead. He loses interest, but can't get out of the chair completely by himself. They sort of have a mutual understanding and end up 'reading' their books together.

We have started to try to combine bedtime efforts. Brushing teeth is one of them, and I thought they looked so grown up doing it together. :)

Lastly, this is a picture of how I found Grant when I went in to wake him up from his morning nap yesterday. He had taken a REALLY long time to fall asleep, and as soon as I saw him I knew why...
