Nothing makes a week feel longer than the flu. Grant had it last weekend, and Reagan and I got it on Wednesday. *Knock on wood* Joel has been flu-free so far. I'm just really glad it's over.
Aside from the flu, things at our house are very much the same. Grant gives himself some kind of head injury nearly every day. Yesterday's was extra bad on the Grant-injury-scale. He stood up backwards in one of Reagan's doll strollers and tipped it right onto his face. He somehow bit into his top and bottom lips and also got a bloody nose. That poor boy.
Reagan has been great. She and I have been reading "chapter books" together. (After reading that Dan & Annie were reading to Natalie, I wondered if Reagan was maybe old enough?) So far we've read Charlotte's Web and we're about half way through the Trumpet of the Swan. This has become our special time together while Grant takes his morning nap.
Reagan has also really gotten into "dancing". (I say that with quotes because you know who her parents are, so you know that genetically speaking, we don't have a lot to offer her.) She loves it anyway and reminds me of myself when I was a little girl. I used to put on the tape of Kenny Rogers' The Gambler and run back and forth across our basement doing cartwheels and making up a "dance". Reagan can't do a cartwheel yet, and it didn't occur to me that I was in my third trimester until I was about halfway done trying to show her how to do one. It was ugly -- and surprisingly not even as bad as the one that Joel did trying to prove he could cartwheel better than a pregnant lady. He can't. :)
