Happy Birthday, Buddy!

Happy Birthday, Grant! You won't realize it for awhile, but you are one blessed little boy! You had a fun day today at your birthday party and you were surrounded by people who love you... You don't realize that you have even more "fans" who couldn't be here today :) You sure are one lucky kid!

Here's some pictures for you of your 1st birthday - since you won't actually be able to remember it when you're older... :)

Before your party, Aunt Emily, Uncle Jason, Cale & Ayla came early to hang out. You got to experience a Slip 'n Slide, blueberries, and peanut butter sandwiches for the first time! None of those was as fun for you as it was to swing with Daddy and Uncle Jason.
This is a picture of the cake I made for you. Daddy said he knew you wouldn't mind if I bought a cake from Hy-Vee, but other people might wonder if I loved you... :) (Since you don't have any favorite TV characters, I just made it to match your plates and napkins. Kind of boring, I know... :)

Reagan insisted that we have party hats for your birthday. When everyone came to your party, she made sure to pass them out. Grandma & Grandpa Ridder were good sports and even let Daddy take their picture... :) (Hi Grandma & Grandpa -- thanks for coming to the party!)

...and Reagan was happy to finish opening your gifts for you. Be sure to give her a hug when you're old enough to thank her for helping you... :)
