H1N1

We don't have it, but I feel like everyone around me does. (You know who you are, and after hearing all your sick-stories, I am afraid of it.)

This summer I said that I would not be eager to get a shot that I thought was untested for a flu that was not severe. I would rather we all just get sick and get over it, I said.

Since then, I've changed my mind and although I wasn't the first in line tonight, I was still out in the rain with the kids heading to the first night of the "County Health Clinic" set up in a nearby town. Reagan and Grant were the only two who qualified for the vaccine tonight, but they are my two "germiest" and my biggest complainers. :)

So tonight I feel a little more hopeful that we might be able to avoid a two-week, sleepless, croupy, vomit-filled, crisis and maybe a trip or two to the ER. I'm (cautiously) relieved. I knew where we were headed if all of us got this and now maybe we won't have to experience it...?

Wouldn't that be too easy?

I've heard they need another shot in 28 days to be officially "in the clear". Not to be the downer... I think I'll try to get mine tomorrow morning!
