An Early Mother's Day Gift

These flowers are Wild Phlox and they smell just as pretty as they look. They grow wild down in our "forest" and are my very favorite part of Spring at our house. This year, Reagan discovered them, too :)

Today I had one of those moments. A moment when you see something so sweet you want to hang on to it, but the camera is too far away and by the time you get it, it will be too late to adequately capture it anyway. So instead you just keep watching, enjoying the view, taking a 'mental picture' and promising yourself that you'll remember it forever.

Today as I watched out my kitchen window, I saw my blonde-haired, brown-eyed girl twirling in her pink dress at the edge of the trees. She was singing to herself and through the filtered sunlight and against a backdrop of green trees, I watched as my little girl picked purple wildflowers for her mama. The sheer perfect-ness of the moment made me pause.

And since there isn't a camera available that could even take such a perfect picture, I'm writing it down so I can remember it forever.
