The "Perks" of Being Pregnant

(This is the 'after' picture)

I've said this before, but we live in a three-season house. I love it during Spring, Summer, and Fall. I hate it during Winter. The main problem is not our house so much as it is the lane that leads to our house. There is only cornfield to the north and anytime the wind blows, it brings with it lots of snow. It seems like our road has been closed three days out of five since Thanksgiving.

My breaking point was last night when we got home from church. The four of us had to walk from the end of the lane, through the drifts, to get home. I was wearing slip-on shoes and I am WAY too pregnant to be walking my children home in the dark.

And as it turns out, it seems my neighbor agrees with me. Today he flagged down the county plow and asked them to help "open up" our road. I think his conversation went something like:
"Please? We have a pregnant lady who lives at the end of the road. She's huge. Seriously -- I saw her walking home last night with her kids. Please plow us out. I think she's due any day now. I mean, she's got to be for how big she is. So, please? She's huge - seriously. Please help?"
(At least that's what I would have said if I was him.) After a convincing call to a supervisor about a desperate-snowed-in-pregnant-lady, the plow operator was allowed to clear our road. And thank goodness, because we were nearly out of milk.

Now - to just have this baby before the road fills back in with snow... :)

Just think...if you came to live with us until #3 comes, you'd be a block from some of the best shopping in town AND only about 5 minutes from the hospital! ;-)
