Long Weekend

After being gone the last two weekends, this weekend we tackled my our long "to do" list.

With the help of a borrowed tiller, we expanded and planted the garden. (Joel and Reagan did most of the work -- notice the new fence??)

With the help of a borrowed jackhammer, Joel broke up and removed this concrete from the yard:


We also cut down two lilac bushes: (have you noticed who is doing all the work on my our list?)


We also planted 5 raspberry bushes and have "plant apple trees" and "create compost pile area" left to do on my our list... One of my goals for 2010 was for our family to be more natural and healthy... I still don't recycle, but growing your own food -- that's healthy, right? :)

We also had a little fun this weekend -- a fire/cookout with the kids on Monday and then we let them try to sleep in a tent last night... Reagan made it until 12:30am and Grant lasted until about 2am. :)

Lastly, our neighbors have some great strawberris and gave us some plants to put in our garden. They let us go over today and pick their strawberries and the kids (and I) were super excited :) Riley ate the most and at the end of our little trip I thought she looked like a crime scene victim... :)
