July 4th

It was raining pretty hard at parade time. We were all soaked by the end. :)
Many of the floats threw candy to the kids. The candy ended up in the rain gutter and would wash down the street if the kids didn't grab it quickly. It was maybe the strangest parade I can remember.
After lunch, naps, and an attempt at church, (it was cancelled and we didn't know it) we headed to the fireworks.

Reagan and Grant were really excited because we let them each have their own can of Diet Rootbeer and we brought a giant bag of popcorn.

Riley's 5 month old picture.

Sandy and Greg met us in the stadium parking lot and waited with us. They brought all the fun sparklers and snakes and stuff. :)

We waited...

...and waited...

...and waited...

...and waited until 10pm. Neither Grant nor Riley had ever seen fireworks and they both were sufficiently awed. Grant was even a little nervous.

By the time we got home at 11, the kids were the happy kind of exhausted that comes from a long and fun day. After Reagan and Grant fell asleep, I had to sneak into their room and pry the glow-stick bracelets out of their hands. :)

I still think Riley looks so much like the little Rugrats girl. :)

Sorry we missed you guys for the 4th - though looking at the amount of rain you guys got, maybe I'm not that sorry.

I love Grant in the first picture...with his one eye covered. If he was making a peace sign with his hand, the picture would be complete. =)

And whose legs are those?? Gross...she should move if someone is taking a picture! ;)
