On Saturday after the parade, we had a girl's lunch and a surprise baby shower for Sarah at Applebee's. It was fun to sit and talk without kids interrupting so we stayed there chatting for almost 4 hours. We went there for lunch and we were still there when the supper crowd started showing up...
Saturday night, Sarah and Mike took some time together while the boys stayed at our house. While mom and dad were gone, we all watched Little Einsteins and Air Buddies. I think Reagan thought she had died and gone to heaven. Cousins and movies?! She couldn't sit still or stop talking.
On Sunday, we had a birthday party for Alec and Zech. One of the highlights was the pinata that Sarah brought...
The weekend went so fast - I just felt like I was along for the ride. My memories of everyone being here are in short clips and little conversations that we had. Some of my favorites are:
1. Micah asking me if he could "draw the drapes" as it was getting dark. You have to know him and how sweet and smart he is to understand how cute that was.
2. Reagan and Micah singing along to Steven Curtis Chapmans' "Cinderella" in the back of the van on the way to the store Sunday morning.
3. Zech grinning from ear to ear as he opened his nerf gun from Aunt Sandy and Uncle Greg.
4. Putting packing tape on the pinata that opened after the second hit.
5. Aidan telling everyone that "sunburns make you look older. Like if you're 5, sunburns will make you look 6 or 7."
6. Reagan cuddling under the blanket with Aunt Sarah after she got too cold to pick up any more candy at the parade.
7. Sitting at Applebee's talking to my sisters and my mom.
8. How could I forget Uncle Greg playing laser tag with the boys?
There are more that I'm too tired to think of right now -- and Sarah has some other good pictures here. :-)
Our house is strangely quiet and we're a little bit lonely already... :)
